This coin-sized biscuit is a traditional biscuit in Japan.
The slight sweetness, moderate saltiness, and unique savory taste are delicious and lingering. It is difficult to stop eating them in the middle.
With sachets, I always end up eating the whole thing.
They were originally made by Meiji Seika, which was taken over by Nomura irimame Processing Store Ltd. to the present day. The word “irimame” means “to roast beans,” and the company originally made bean snacks. The oil in which the beans are fried is blended into the millet biscuits, which is believed to be the reason for their unique savory flavor.
The girl character on the package was created by Takashi Yanase, the creator of the famous Japanese anime "Anpanman." Nomura commissioned the production because he is also from Kochi Prefecture.
The canned products are also available in collaboration with Hello Kitty. The canned products have a long shelf life of two years, making them ideal for emergency rations in the event of a disaster.
